Unique Twists on Timeless Swag

We’ve all received a classic piece of swag with a logo on it: a t-shirt, a hat, maybe even a hoodie. They are great classic pieces and are sure to be used for a while but over time, they may be reached for less and less as the user acquires new items. The ideal goal when giving away swag, is to get longevity out of your investment. The best way to do this is to give items people will continue to reach for time and time again.

The easiest way to achieve this is by thinking differently when it comes to logo placement and decoration. By thinking out-of-the-box and making your swag unique, you increase the desirability of an item. Think of a band shirt you purchased that has a killer design or drinkware with a creative concept: at the end of the day, these are staple pieces but it’s the decoration that makes it stand out amongst the rest.

One of the ongoing trends for swag is branding to look like something you would find in retail. Retail inspired trends are what have truly elevated classic swag over the past few years.

Here are some easy ways to spice up your merch:

In recent years, there's been a significant interest in a more subtle approach to branding. Tone-on-tone decoration looks more fashion-forward and is a classy alternative to traditional decoration. Check out this embroidered cap we created for Algoma Central Corporation.

Fun and Fascinating Design

Incorporating a variety of imagery, graphics or patterns that align with your brand helps to capture what you’re all about. This bottle we designed for Otis Worldwide, is a great example of how we incorporated a blueprint of one of their elevator designs along with their logo. Our in-house graphic designers can help you design something truly unique —ask us how!

Switch-Up Decoration Locations

Sometimes simply changing the usual placement of your logo or adding it in multiple locations can make a difference. For example: the back of a garment, nape of neck, or full length of a sleeve —there are so many opportunities to add interest to your apparel and make it stand out from anything you’ve previously done!

Try A New Decoration Type

With a variety of options to choose from, there's no need to stick with the same decoration every time — especially when it comes to apparel. If you're looking to spice up your next swag order, consider some of these distinct decoration methods: flock print, dye-sublimation, appliqué, woven hem labels, or a debossed leather patch. Our brand specialists can help you decide on different decoration types if you're looking for something new.

With a few simple changes, your swag will stand out from the crowd.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to be a creative genius to put a unique spin on these timeless pieces. Our team at Brand Blvd are full of creative ideas, just send us a message, we're happy to help!
